Fruiting Plants – for warm climates (pp. 80-83)...for both our printed recipes for Mousse No. 1 and Black Sapote Cake and our online bonus alternate Mousse No 2. recipe!

This issue's article has content submitted courtesy of the Sub-Tropical Fruit Club of Queensland on the Black Sapote (Diospyros digyna).

Otherwise known commonly as black persimmon/
chocolate pudding fruit. This fruit is an amazingly versatile dessert fruit that everyone finds irresistible when prepared properly (see recipes). Other common names include the chocolate pudding fruit and the black persimmon, a more apt name as it is botanically related to the persimmon and not sapotes (Pouteria sp.) or white sapote (Casimiroa sp.)
