Claire Bickle is a qualified Brisbane Horticulturist, having a Diploma in Horticulture and a Certificate and an Adv Certificate in Permaculture Design.
She works in the retail horticulture sector and has done so for nearly two decades. Claire now also enjoys teaching at TAFE part time.
Her passion for everything horticulture stems from a childhood spent in the company of her grandmother, an avid gardener and plant lover.
Having lived on 3 acres in the western suburbs of Brisbane for over 10 years, Claire has enjoyed pursuing her love of nature and sustainable horticulture in a subtropical climate by growing her own organic fruit, vegetables and herbs and the challenge of blending this in with the surrounding environment and with her other passions, natives and flowering perennials. Over this time she has also become a successful breeder of various types of rare poultry.
Claire enjoys and finds nothing more rewarding than educating people on how to be self sufficient and grow their own food plants, care for the environment and beautify their garden spaces by suggesting interesting plant design combinations. |
