This article looks at a broad overview of the needs of frogs in the urban environment and how good gardening practice can support their survival.

A diversity of plant species and strata Good urban habitat for any species, not just frogs, is multi-layered. While each layer or strata may provide a specific requirement for an individual species, it is the full suite that works toward replicating habitat. These strata, described from the ground up are listed below; with some plant species options. Though frogs tend not to prefer native plants over non-native plants, this article will focus more on the native options.

Topics covered include:

  • Diet
  • Mosquitoes
  • Waiting for frogs
